Cowboys, Marvel team up for clothing line

The Dallas Cowboys Jerseys have teamed up with Marvel Entertainment to produce a line of clothing.

The Marvel/Dallas Cowboys collection for infants, children and adults will include T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, caps and onesies, according to a story on www.cowboysjerseyproshop.com

The co-branded merchandise will feature superheroes like Captain America, Spider-man and Iron Man sporting Cowboys’ team colors, logos and jerseys.

With the Cowboys Jerseys constantly standing atop the NFL apparel sales list, it’s not surprising to see the two sides reach a merchandising agreement.

“We are excited to team up with Marvel Entertainment to create such a unique line of apparel for our fans,” Jerry Jones Jr., chief sales and marketing officer for the Cowboys, told the team’s official website. “We are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to energize our fans, and what better way than to combine our brand with some of the all-time great superheroes that everyone has grown up with.”

Captain America and the Dallas Cowboys Jerseys are already on sale at the Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop in the Galleria Dallas shopping mall. Other items are available on the Cowboys’ official website.

The partnership comes a month after the Marvel heroes collaborated with another team, one of Dallas’ arch-enemies.

Shortly after the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA championship, Marvel T-shirts started showing up at Wal-Mart stores around the Miami area pronouncing the Miami Heat as the NBA title winners.

The error evidently did not make Spider-man’s senses tingle.
